Who I am
This is actually a pretty deep question.. but, for starters, my name is Rachael Roberts and I live in leafy Leamington Spa with my husband, two kids and a ludicrously small and fluffy Schnoodle, called Teddy.
What I do
Whenever people used to ask me, ‘What do you do?’, I used to hesitate. What should I mention first? Teaching and training? Writing? Life coaching? And then I realised what they all have in common:
I help people grow.
I passionately believe that, given the right tools and support, everyone has the inner resources to effect positive and permanent change in their lives. And I’m here to help you do it.
Having absolutely no idea what to do with a degree in English and Drama I decided to take a year out to teach English abroad and, somewhat to my surprise, found that I absolutely loved the interaction with a group, and seeing and facilitating people’s growth and learning. I never looked back. Over time, I started working more and more with teachers as well as students, and became fascinated by group dynamics and the interpersonal and intrapersonal aspects of teaching and learning. This led in turn to three years’ training as a counsellor and psychotherapist at Warwick University, and, later, a Diploma in Coaching, also at Warwick.
I now divide my time between life coaching one to one, working with groups and writing teaching and learning materials.
The sister website to this one, ELT-Resourceful.com, deals with resources for English Language Teaching. This one, perhaps more vitally, deals with resources for life.
